About RAYA SALMAN

I was born in Lebanon, studied in France at the Sorbonne University and lived in England before coming to the US with my family in 1991.

I have exhibited my oil paintings in various Paris, Beirut, and London galleries, where I have also participated in the International Contemporary Art fair. In the U.S. I have shown my work in various galleries and participated in several exhibitions in Arizona, DC, Florida, Maryland and Virginia.

I love beautiful, vivid colors of the Mediterranean region where I grew up. I use oils for my figurative work and acrylics for most abstract paintings. My latest passion: Resin, pigments and semi-precious stones, all inspired by a couple of trips to the mystical town of Sedona, Arizona.

I currently give group private classes and conduct corporate art sessions. Moreover, I have published my first children’s book: “Joey the Leopard/Have you seen my spots?”, and I am currently working on my second one. Beside my passion for painting, I enjoy cooking, biking, hiking, swimming, hot yoga and have earned my sixth degree Black Belt in Taekwondo.

I love to find beauty in nature, animals, inanimate objects and transpose it onto my canvas. Sharing my positive attitude, passion for life and vibrant colors with others is very rewarding for me because I am often told that my paintings make them happy!

“This painting is made of epoxy resin mixed with pigments that are made of the mica semi-precious stone, ground into a fine powder and coated with mineral pigments to create color. Unlike matte pigments, mica adds shimmery pearlescent finish.”

“My aim is to brighten up your day every time you look at my paintings”
